Untitled is an installation made out of different textiles and textures created by Ilja Schumm. This music composition project focused on designing an immersive ambient soundscape built from dark, unsettling and subtly distorted textures and sounds. The goal was to explore discomfort as an emotional experience by layering fragile harmonies, irregular rhythms, and evolving sonic elements that create a sense of unease. Through the use of unconventional sound sources and heavy processing, the piece harnesses a wry and introspective atmosphere that challenges the listener’s expectations of ambient music as something purely calm or soothing.
